UU-GP.png

ARCHANGEL UNICORN

  • The Discard ability can only be triggered for mandatory or triggered effects, an effect cannot be used to replace a Requirement to play a card, an effect can replace the Requirement once the card resolves. The contents of a players Stable must be able to meet the requirement before a card is played.
  • Official Statement There must be a cost. Ideally, a player who is bringing Archangel into their Stable would have 3 Cards in their Stable to Sacrifice. If they do not have 3 to Sac, they cannot play Archangel. Alternatively, if the player is using Archangel's effect to instead DISCARD 3 cards from their hand (which we recognize as a legal play, though it wasn't quite intended), they must have at least 3 cards in their hand to discard, otherwise the cost of Archangel is not being met and it cannot enter their Stable.

This statement recognizes that there must be a cost to having an Archangel Unicorn, not that the sacrifice is a requirement to play the card.

  • The triggered draw effect is added to the Draw Phase. If the Draw Phase is skipped or the mandatory draw of the phase is not taken, you do not draw the "extra" card. (A card must be drawn to have an extra card draw.)

ARCHANGEL'S BLESSING

  • An effect cannot be used to replace a Requirement to play a card, however an effect can replace the Requirement once the card resolves. The contents of a players Stable must be able to meet the requirement before a card is played.

BARBED WIRE

  • If the unicorn card would be entering the Stable from being played and the Player is unable to Discard a card that Player cannot Play the unicorn card. This is a requirement effect that is added to other cards.

BLACK HOLE

CHRONOCORN

  • Card can be played as the action phase "action" OR at such a time an instant card can be played; NOT anytime you like.

"Instant cards can be played any time any other player plays a card (unless otherwise stated). If an Instant card is played in response to a card you played, you may respond with an Instant card of your own (even though you already played a card this turn). Any number of Instant cards can be placed onto the instant pile during a single turn." (Rulesheet)

CONTROLLED DESTRUCTION

CRITICAL HIT

  • The "announcement" to Sacrificed is after the Magic Card is "announced" prior to any Instant "announcements". You do not get to wait and see if the Magic Card would or would not resolve.
  • The Magic Card is put into Hand once all effects have resolved from it, then it is played again (if able).
  • The "immediately" played card has no effects preventing it from being Neigh'd. The card can be Neigh'd

INTERACTION: Two-For-One :SACRIFICE a card, then DESTROY 2 cards.
RESULT: Once Two-For-One is returned to Hand it is regarded as "new" card to play, If you do not or cannot meet the requirements to play it, it will remain in Hand.

DRAGON KISS

  • Dragon Kiss and the card that is played from the successful resolution of Dragon Kiss are individual events. The played card is not an indirect effect of Dragon Kiss.
  • The "immediately" played card has no effects preventing it from being Neigh'd. The card can be Neigh'd

DRAGON SLAYER UNICORN

INTERACTION: Dragon Kiss: Search the deck for a Magic card. Play it immediately, then shuffle the deck.
RESULT: The played card is not an indirect effect of Dragon Kiss. The immunity will not prevent a non "dragon" named card from destroying it.

DREAD PIRATE UNICORN

EXTRA TAIL

The 2nd print changes how this can be played OR the effect(s) caused during gameplay from the original text release.

  • Original Text Card could enter a stable from effects, without a Basic unicorn.
  • Second Print Card cannot enter a stable from any action or effect, unless a Basic Unicorn is in the stable.
  • The triggered draw effect is added to the Draw Phase. If the Draw Phase is skipped or the mandatory draw of the phase is not taken, you do not draw the "extra" card. (A card must be drawn to have an extra card draw.)

EXTRADIMENSIONAL SADDLEBAG

  • Cards that effect the size of the Hand Limit are continuous, but only have effect during the End of Turn Phase.
  • Hand Limit discard effect is the last effect to resolve during the End of Turn Phase, a player cannot end their turn holding more cards than the current limit.

EXTREMELY DESTRUCTIVE UNICORN

GLITTER BOMB

INTERACTION: Summoning Ritual:If this card is in your Stable at the beginning of your turn, you may STEAL a Unicorn card. At the end of your turn, return that Unicorn card to the Stable from which you stole it.
RESULT: The Summoning Ritual unicorn cannot be sacrificed to the Glitter Bomb as both effects are simultaneous and the unicorn is not in the Stable at the time it would be chosen to sacrifice.

GREENER PASTURES

HEX

  • If possible must be moved to a player with cards in their hand.

If all players in the game have no cards in hand and thus causing an infinite unbreakable event, all players can choose to either, remove Hex from the game, move it to the discard pile or end the game without a winner. This is considered a "house" rule with the decision completely up to players in the game.

INTERVENTION

  • Card is played in response to a player trying to sacrifice "one" card. It stops one Sacrificed Effect on that card. It does not stop Sacrificed effects that may occur simultaneously on other cards.

MAGICAL KITTENCORN

INTERACTION: Seven Sacker: SACRIFICE all of your Unicorn cards, then DESTROY a Unicorn card in each other player's Stable.
RESULT: Seven Sacker can NOT be played if Magical Kittencorn is in your Stable, seven sackers are Magic cards and the Magical Kittencorn is Immune to Magic cards and would remain in Stable.

NECROMANCY

NIGHTMARE PACT

NIGHTMARE'S CONJURING

PAGE:Defined as: FLYERS

  • "Flyers" refers to the Magical Unicorns that have the "Flying" in the card title, All cards contain the effect text;

"If this card would be sacrificed or destroyed, return it to your hand instead."

PAGE:Defined as: MASQUERADE

  • the wearing of disguise. "dressing up, role playing, and masquerade"

Defined effect of Pandamonium,Catastrophe and Otter Devastation.

PAGE:Defined as: SEVEN SACKER

  • There are 7 cards defined as "Seven Sacker" cards, All cards contain the effect text;

"SACRIFICE all of your Unicorn cards, then DESTROY a Unicorn card in each other player's Stable.'"

PAGE:Defined as: SIMULTANEOUSLY

  • "Adverb:in a way that is simultaneous (= happening or being done at exactly the same time):"

PANDAMONIUM (CATASTROPHE, OTTER DEVASTATION)

  • You cannot win the game if a Masquerade card is in your Stable.
  • If your card states that you can destroy or sacrifice a Unicorn card, then Masquerade cards will prevent you from doing so. If your card states that you can simply destroy or sacrifice a card, The Masquerade card will NOT prevent this.
  • A Stolen Unicorn will not return to its original Stable, the return effect does not affect "Masquerader" or Unicorn Cards.

Do my Unicorn card effects work if Masquerade card is in my Stable? Yes, their effects remain the same.
INTERACTION: Unicorn Lasso:If this card is in your Stable at the beginning of your turn, you may STEAL a Unicorn card. At the end of your turn, return that Unicorn card to the Stable from which you stole it.
RESULT: The stolen unicorn becomes a "Masquerader" simultaneously on entering the Stable. Pandamonium prevents Unicorn Lasso from returning the Unicorn card.
INTERACTION: Barbed Wire: Each time a Unicorn card enters or leaves your Stable, DISCARD a card.
RESULT: A Unicorn entering a Stable will simultaneously trigger Barbed Wire and become a "Masquerader". When a "Masquerader" leaves the Stable it is not a Unicorn to trigger Barbed Wire.
INTERACTION: Rainbow Mane: This card can only enter a Stable if there is a Basic Unicorn card in that Stable. If this card is in your Stable at the beginning of your turn, you may bring a Basic Unicorn card from your hand directly into your Stable.
RESULT: Rainbow Mane must be in your Stable prior to the Masquerade card, you can still use the card effect to bring Basic unicorn cards from your hand into your Stable.

PATIENT ZERO UNICORN

  • The effect is triggered when a sacrifice "would" happen and the new mandatory replacement effect happens "instead". The effect still occurs even if the Patient Zero Unicorn is chosen as the sacrifice.

QUEEN BEE UNICORN

The 2nd print changes how this can be played OR the effect(s) caused during gameplay from the original text release.

  • Original Text basic unicorns could enter other stables from effects.
  • Second Print basic unicorns cannot enter other stables from any action or effect.

RAINBOW BRIDGE

  • The card drawn must be put into your Stable to then Draw another card. You do not get to draw a Magic or Instant card then draw another card.

RAINBOW MANE

The 2nd print changes how this can be played OR the effect(s) caused during gameplay from the original text release.

  • Original Text Card could enter a stable from effects, without a Basic unicorn.
  • Second Print Card cannot enter a stable from any action or effect, unless a Basic Unicorn is in the stable.

INTERACTION: Pandamonium: All of your Unicorns are considered Pandas. Cards that affect Unicorn cards do not affect your Pandas.
RESULT: If Rainbow Mane is in your Stable prior to the Pandamonium, you can still use the card effect to bring Basic unicorn cards from your hand into your Stable.

RESET BUTTON

INTERACTION: Intervention:Play this card when any other player tries to SACRIFICE a card. Stop that sacrifice effect and choose any player. SACRIFICE or DESTROY a card in that player's Stable.
RESULT: Reset Button triggers a Sacrificed effect for every upgrade card and for every downgrade card. Intervention stops only one Sacrificed Effect.

RE-TARGET

  • The card moved can be from your own Stable to another player; or between two other players, but not into your own Stable. A usual occurrence is to move a Downgrade out of your own Stable.

SADISTIC RITUAL

  • The sacrifice is a Requirement. If you do not sacrifice a unicorn you do not draw a card.
  • The card draw from Sadistic Ritual is drawn in the Beginning of Turn Phase.

SPRING CLEANING

SUMMONING RITUAL

INTERACTION: Glitter Bomb:If this card is in your Stable at the beginning of your turn, you may SACRIFICE a card. If you do, DESTROY a card.
RESULT: The Summoning Ritual unicorn cannot be sacrificed to the Glitter Bomb as both effects are simultaneous and the unicorn is not in the Stable at the time it would be chosen to sacrifice.

SUPER NEIGH

TINY STABLE

  • You cannot win the game if Tiny Stable is in your Stable.
  • The effect is continuous and mandatory, If the Stable has more than 5 unicorns at any time, the effect will trigger and still resolve even if Tiny Stable is removed.

INTERACTION: Pandamonium: All of your Unicorns are considered Pandas. Cards that affect Unicorn cards do not affect your Pandas.
RESULT: A Unicorn entering a Stable will simultaneously trigger Tiny Stable and become a "Masquerader".

TOTALLY NOT TWO UNICORNS
