Searching for Cards
Some card effects allow you to search the deck or the discard pile for a card (ex. "When this card enters your Stable, you may search the deck for a Downgrade card and add it to your hand"). Once you have retrieved that card, reveal the card you chose to each other player before adding it to your hand.

  • An effect may state a specific card or card type to search or look for; if you cannot find a card when searching the deck or player hand you simply "fail" in that search.
    • An impossible action is triggered and you disregard the effects that are unable to be performed when a card is not found.
    • You cannot choose to not find a card if one meets the criteria of the search.

Some card effects allow you to "choose" a card from the Discard Pile, you can look at your options and pick whichever card you want. The Discard Pile is face up and open information to all players you must reveal any card you chose to each other player before adding it to your hand.

  • Card text will only give instructions to search the deck. From a player's hand, a stable or the discard pile text will state to "add" a specific card.
  • When you "add" a card to your hand the text may specify a card or card type which may be from another player's hand, a Stable or the discard pile. Any valid target may be chosen to be added to your hand.
