Garbage Gift cards have a red garbage symbol. Garbage Gift cards do not count towards the number of Good Gift cards needed to win the game. Some of these cards have a negative effect that hurts your chances of winning. If you have a Garbage Gift card in your Stockpile, you'll usually want to EXCHANGE or REGIFT it at your first opportunity!
