Rather than naming every single printing or publishing run, which there have been many if not hundreds of card printings now. When Unstable Unicorns Kickstarter was released with the Original Text game effect text, this was found to have certain game effect text misinterpretations of intention; a new card text was published, this new card effect text is called Second Print.

C&C Print is the term used for the Control and Chaos Base Set rulesheet. All card information contain both Original Text and the Second Print versions. This version is integrates the Second Print rulesheet.
- June 2018 Starting with the Rainbow Apocalypse Expansion all releases were updated to new Second Print game text format and rulesheet. All previous releases is now out of print.
- C&C Print creates an additional Unicorn Card subtype Ultimate Unicorn and the Instant Card pile rules.

The Second Edition Base Set was released in November 2019. This release is the first to use the dual card type icons in both the top left and the bottom right corners. It also uses the "Cuddly Unicorn" symbol to represent the set, which first appeared on the Steampunk Unicorn.
