A card return is from a player's stable, you do not return cards from hand, discard pile or deck to a stable.

If a return effect is bound to another card that effect is no longer active if the card is not in the same stable as the card it is bound to; or if that card somehow left the stable and then made its way back into that stable.

When a card returns to a player's hand it leaves the Stable.
