Standard Game-play concepts
During normal game-play, there are certain concepts that are always active and have no effect on the gameplay.
Unicorn cards are a physical component of the game, they are held by player's, physically placed into stables, some have effect text, some do not. These cards are always unicorn cards and cannot become something other than being a unicorn card.
When a unicorn card is in a player's stable each unicorn card is considered a "unicorn". This concept of "unicorn" has no physical component, "unicorns" do not have any effect text, the entire purpose of the "unicorn" concept is to determine the game-winning condition (usually 7 unicorns). Even though a "unicorn" has no physical component they are said to be in the stable.
Altered Gameplay concepts
When in a stable there are 6 cards that alter the standard gameplay concept, of these 5 are masquerade cards, the other is Tiny Stable. All of these cards alter the standard gameplay concepts above.
YOU CANNOT WIN THE GAME. Unicorns are now considered a panda, cat, otter or shit, or as a combination of the five if a player is so unlucky to have multiple "Masquerade" cards in the stable. The game-winning condition requires "unicorns", You have no Unicorns (anymore) so you are unable to meet the win condition to win. A Dragon's Blessing card in the stable is the only way to win while a masquerade card is also in the stable. |
WHEN A UNICORN CARD ENTERS A STABLE. A Unicorn card is considered a unicorn, when they enter a stable they become a panda, cat, otter, shit or reindeer and also trigger any other contiuous effects that may also be in a stable. (Such as Barbed Wire). |
When a masquerade card is in a stable it causes the intangible "unicorn" concept to become a physical component. This causes Pandas, cats, otters, shits, and reindeer to have an immunity effect rather than the physical card in the stable and this immunity is extended to the card.
Masquerade Cards give Continuous Immunity to Unicorn Cards in the stable. Any unicorn card in your stable cannot be the chosen target for a sacrifice, destroy, steal or replacement effect. An opponent cannot play a card that directly or indirectly target a unicorn card. The player cannot play any card that has a requirement that would target a unicorn in their stable such as Unicorns of the Apocalypse or a Seven Sacker |
When a masqerade card is in a stable, it has no card effect that changes a card type. The only card that has effect text to change a card type is Blinding Light.
A UNICORN CARD IS STILL A UNICORN CARD. Unicorn cards are still restricted by the card type, such as Queen Bee Unicorn or The Black Spot. There is no such card type as a "Panda", "cat", "reindeer", "shit" or "otter". |
Specific Card Rules and Information
This card has no requirement preventing the playing of this card. |

When in a stable; This card adds an immunity to; Unicorn Cards |
Unicorn cards are immune to targeted effects; |
"This protection prevents a unicorn card from being targeted for a targeted effect." during the resolution of a card. |
If a targeted effect is required you cannot play the card. |
Do my Unicorn card effects work if Masquerade card is in my Stable? Yes, their effects remain the same. |
The immunity granted from a Masquerade card does not extend to unicorn card effects. The effect created from a unicorn card on another player's cards can be replaced by other card effects instead. |
